The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), has extended the date for implementation of Quality Control Order, 2017 for SPV inverters (items 4-5) from 30th June 2022 to 31st December 2022 based on self-certification, subject to the condition that such manufacturers have valid electrotechnical commission (IEC) accreditation and test report from international test labs for the smooth implementation of the order. This extension was granted due to the availability of limited testing facilities and because it allows for more time for compliance with the order.
Central Government had issued guidelines for “Solar Photovoltaics, Systems, Devices and Components Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2017” vide S.O. 2920 on September 5, 2017 for six products included in the schedule. The guidelines had a list of different tests to determine technical and operational issues of the components.
