BPCL Floats Tender To Employ Contractor For 14 MW Solar Project Development

Cape Town Launches Tender for a 7 MW Solar Plant to Reduce Dependence on Eskom

At its Bina Refinery in Madhya Pradesh, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) is to build up a 14 MW grid-connected solar power plant on a turnkey basis, for which they have invited bids to hire a contractor.

The last date for proposal submissions is August 24, 2022, which is also the bid opening date. Bidders are required to provide Rs. 500,000 as an earnest money deposit.

For this project, BPCL has authorized Slnko Energy with providing project management consultation. Slnko will prepare the tender, carry out the technical and commercial examination of bids, get clarification from bidders, and ultimately suggest hiring a contractor.

After the work order, the project has 180 days to be commissioned. Further, for a period of 3 years, the contractor must offer full operation and maintenance. 

Project management, detailed engineering, residual engineering, fabrication, procurement, erection, installation, inspection, construction, transportation, and testing are all included in the scope of operation. 

In order to complete the mechanical work, and undertake pre-commissioning, commissioning, and performance guarantee test runs, the contractor must also get the necessary legislative permissions.

Bidders must have finished a comparable project with a minimum capacity of 8 MW during the last 5 years in order to be eligible for bidding. Alternatively, they might have commissioned two comparable projects in the previous 5 years, each with a minimum capacity of 4 MW. 

Prior to the deadline for proposal submission, the reference projects have to have been continuously running.

The bidders’ net worth as determined by the audited financial statement for the prior year must be positive. Additionally, they must have a minimum annual turnover of Rs 200 million over the last 3 fiscal years.
