The 200MW PV power plant in Zhangye in Gansu province, China is now operational. It uses Trina Solar’s Vertex 670W modules in 210mm to transform desert areas, including the Gobi, into areas that can be used for the next generation of green electricity.
Linze county is the location of the project. It is located in the middle Hexi corridor, at the southern edge Badain Jaran Desert. This desert is rich in solar thermal resources.
The project’s total installed capacity is 200MW and covers an area of approximately 5,700mu (380 ha). The power station will be completed in 380 million kWh per year. It is estimated that the average annual equivalent power generation time of 1,738.9hrs and a reduction in CO2 emissions of 320,000 tons per year are achieved.

The latest field test in Cologne, Germany shows that the Vertex 600W+ ultra high power modules have an energy yield at least 2% more than the reference modules.
