Solarcity Malaysia Completes The Installation Of 507.28 KWp Solar PV For Muda Holdings’ Subsidiary

Solarcity Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a 70% owned subsidiary of G Capital completes the installation of a 507.28 KWp solar photovoltaic power generation system for Muda Paper Mills Sdn Bhd (MPM).


This installation is in compliance with G Capital’s supplemental electricity purchase agreement with MPM, which was signed on 30 May 2022. Solarcity installed the solar PV system in the MPM factory at Simpang Ampat (Penang).

Datuk Yap Yee Ping, executive director of G Capital, witnessed the installation and commissioning of the 507.28 KWp in addition to the 3,006.72KWp that the company had installed. The company commissioned it on 16 February 2022.

She stated that “with that, we have achieved year-to-date 15.0 MWp PV system installed,” in a statement.

MPM is Muda Holdings Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary listed on Bursa Malaysia. MPM is involved with the production and sale of paper and related products.

The plant will generate revenue and earnings for G Capital for 25 years starting on 15 September 2022. This date is the date of commercial operation.

Yap stated that the Simpang Ampat 509.28 KWp PV systems have been completed. This brings our total installed capacity for solar PV systems to 16.1 MWp since inception.
