How has the business been for Sineng Electric so far in 2022?

Sineng Electric has been doing business in India since 2017 and opened a 3 GW manufacturing facility in August 2018.  We have gradually and steadily expanded our business in the Indian market and have had the opportunity to collaborate with leading developers and EPC partners. Trust in Sineng’s quality service and technological-commercial offerings has resulted in 8GW orders. Our signature 3.125 MW Central Inverter product pushed us to rank as Top one in 2022 and Top 2 overall in India for both (String+ Central).

To meet the exponentially expanding demand, we opened a new manufacturing facility with a 10GW annual capacity in Bangalore in 2022. Sineng manufactures string and central inverters from this location.   With three such 10GW annual manufacturing bases (India and China), we now have additional flexibility to cater to delivery demands globally.

Sineng has shipped over 40GW worldwide. In addition to India as our strategic location, Sineng products are utilized in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and South America, etc.  We will continue to grow our market share in these markets. Furthermore, we are aggressively seeking prospects in the US market and the Middle East and Africa regions.

What is the latest technology incorporated into your inverters?

Sineng Electric acquired Emerson China’s PV business in 2014, empowering us with a pioneer research and development team to design future-ready solutions. Sineng developed and marketed a variety of large-scale high-power central and string inverters for the Indian area. They are incredibly safe, resistant to temperature changes, and highly effective. The flagship Sineng inverter EP-3125HA-UD is widely used in utility PV facilities in India. It is more dependable, performs better, and has a higher capacity to support widely accepted block sizes of PV plants.

For utility PV plants, we provide Sineng SP-250K-INH and SP-275K-INH string inverters as part of our string solution. Their performance has been excellent. The SP-275K-INH is the first 1500V string inverter in the world that is capable of handling a 20A high-power PV module. For applications involving high-power PV modules, this will eventually become the normative criterion for string inverters in near future.

The core of Indian utility PV projects will continue to be inverters with 3MW+ central and 200kW+ strings size. They have a good block size, an established technology, and a track record of reliability.

Sineng will launch additional larger capacity inverters, such as a 4MW+ central and 300kW+ string inverter, when the support BOS is ready with commercial viability.

Any challenges you are currently facing as an inverter supplier in India?

We transitioned into the year 2022 from the Covid era, which had a significant impact on industrial logistics, manpower planning, and production bases. The entire supply chain was affected by this global pandemic & still affected by such issues.

The production of inverters requires a wide range of semiconductor components, and the shortage of these components has adversely impacted almost all global inverter producers, causing production halts and backlogs. 

Mitigation strategies are engaged to secure sourcing & capacity expansion to recover the post-pandemic situation with semiconductor chips. We have also signed deals to secure supplies for the future, enabling us to ensure timely deliveries. This will take another few quarters to fix the material scarcity issues.
