-Chint Solar (Bangladesh) Co. Ltd., a 100% subsidiary of CHINT Solar, provides one-stop solution for any kind of solar PV power plant projects both C&I and IPP including EPC services.

-Since our foray into the renewable energy industry in 2006, Chint has gained a great lot of experience in project development and construction, and also we deeply participated in the global energy transition. So far we have constructed over 690 solar plants globally totaling 8GW.

Tell us how has 2022 been so far for you? What have been some major developments?

In 2022, we, Chint Solar (Bangladesh) Co. Ltd. (CSBCL), started our journey with new enthusiasm with view to contributing in renewable energy sector in Bangladesh, especially solar PV power sector. This year is challenging for fossil fuel-based power plant to meet the growing demand of electric energy worldwide due to vulnerability in the supply chain of crude oil and gas. Bangladesh is also facing the same. So, it is the time to reduce dependency on fossil fuel and facilitate renewable energy for sustainable development. With the vision to contribute in sustainable development, CSBCL promotes Commercial & Industrial (C&I) rooftop projects and Independent Power Plant (IPP) projects in Bangladesh in 2022 as before. EPC works of about 7.7 MWp project is contracted, and some C&I projects are under development; we also submitted numbers of Unsolicited IPP projects’ proposal under Government of Bangladesh.

What are the solutions you offer with respect to Solar?

Since our foray into the renewable energy industry in 2006, Chint has gained a great lot of experience in project development and construction, and also we deeply participated in the global energy transition. We have covered the whole industrial chain, such as the project development, design, equipment manufacture, EPC construction, O&M, energy storage, energy commercialization and multi-energy complementary practice. In a word, we are offering the one-stop solution to our customers. Besides, we introduced our philosophy of Splendid PV. This is could be understood as the adoptation of PV plant into different kinds of scenarios such as barren mountains, desert, farms and lakes. Without damaging the existing conditions, we create more economic and social benefits from the PV plant. So far we have constructed over 690 solar plants globally totaling 8GW. We are very proud that we have brought so much clean energy to the people all over the world!

What differentiates your solutions from competitors?

Chint Solar (Bangladesh) Co. Ltd. offers complete solutions for solar PV projects. CHINT has expertise to provide Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) service. All the major materials of solar PV projects can be procured from one umbrella from CHINT: solar PV module from Astronergy, Inverter, Energy Storage System (ESS) from Chint Power System, Transformer from Chint Electric, and other equipment like Cables (AC &DC), Combiner box, Distribution box, etc. This one-stop solution of CHINT differentiate CHINT from other competitors in the market.

What have been some big projects for CHINT this year? How is the project lined up for 2023?

In 2022, CHINT submitted about 260 MW solar PV unsolicited IPP projects in several locations of Bangladesh including a 200 MW, 50MW and a 10 MW floating projects. These projects will be developed by CHINT on Build Own and Operate (BOO) basis. Further, about 7.7 MWp EPC works was contracted and under engineering andprocurement, and some C&I projects are under development. And another 100MW on BOO basis will be submitted by the end of October. CHINT possesses the mission to turn those projects into reality and make significant progress in 2023.

What are your growth and expansion plans for the next couple of years?

CHINT has the vision to contribute in National Solar Energy Roadmap 2021 – 2041 taken by Government of Bangladesh, and in developing sustainable green energy to offer the new generation to a healthy atmosphere to live. We want to keep our footprint in large scale solar PV IPP and C&I projects overcoming the challenges exits in Bangladesh to utilize maximum resources of this country. The plan is to have a total investment pipeline of 500MW in 5 years from 2021 to 2025. For this purpose, in 2023, CHINT, along with its partners, will submit another 140MW project.
