Integrated building materials provider, Chin Hin Group Berhad (Chin Hin), in a joint effort with Solarvest Holdings Berhadโs residential solar subsidiary, Vestech Energy Sdn Bhd (Vestech), has launched a Go Green & Clean Campaign to encourage residential solar adoption among Chin Hinโs employees.
Solarvest is the Malaysia-based one-stop solar photovoltaic system solution provider company for residential, commercial & industrial, and utility-scale solar farms. Chin Hin Group Berhad is listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia.
Through the campaign, Vestech will be offering an attractive and affordable solar financing scheme, specifically tailored to each staff. The offer is applicable to approximately 2,000 employees in this initial phase. Along with that, they are also eligible to participate in a referral programme, where they could enjoy rebates when their friends and families install solar energy through Vestech.
Group Managing Director of Chin Hin, Mr. Chiau Haw Choon said, โOver the years, Chin Hin has made commendable progress in terms of its sustainable business practices. Notably, we have been actively reducing our carbon footprint through the substitution of conventional coal-powered energy to solar-powered clean energy at some of our key plants across our multi-segmental businesses.โ
To date, Chin Hinโs wholly owned subsidiaries, Metex Steel Sdn Bhd and Starken AAC Sdn Bhd, along with its newly acquired, Ajiya Berhad, all have solar-equipped factories.
โMoving forward, we wish to cultivate a similar passion for carbon reduction among our workforce by educating and promoting the use of solar energy at their own homes. We are glad to have found the ideal partner in Vestech, who is one of the market leaders in the local residential solar space,โ Mr. Chiau added.
Executive Director-cum-Group Chief Executive Officer of Solarvest Holdings Berhad, Mr. Davis Chong Chun Shiong said, โThe campaign is a noble and out-of
the-box effort by Chin Hin to advocate for greater environmental awareness, which we are proud to support. Oftentimes, companies can be overly fixated on improving E.S.G. scores at an organizational level but neglect the individuals working within. The shift in focus to the employees, by means of education and attractive solar financing, is a positive step towards a more holistic approach to fighting climate change. As a collective, we can do exponentially better.โ
