Viraj Profiles and Avaada Energy Partner to Establish a 100 MW Solar Plant in Maharashtra

Viraj Profiles Private Limited, a prominent Indian Stainless Steel manufacturer, has collaborated with Avaada Energy Pvt. Ltd. to establish a 100 MW captive solar plant at Tarapur.

The project, expected to be commissioned by February 2024, aims to generate around 207 million units of energy per year and offset approximately 182 million kilos of CO2 emissions annually.

The plant will be used for captive consumption by Viraj Profile Limited’s Tarapur Plant, which will reduce its dependency on non-renewable resources by 50%.

This initiative is a part of Viraj Profiles’ ongoing efforts to create a greener tomorrow and achieve its sustainability goals.

The collaboration will set up a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to build the solar plant.
