Assam Government Approves Implementation of 620 MW Green Power Projects

The Assam government has approved the implementation of seven green power projects with a combined capacity of 620 MW. The projects will be developed under a joint venture between Assam Power Generation Company Ltd (APGCL) and Oil India Limited (OIL).

The projects include floating solar power projects, agrivoltaic projects, and solar power projects in various locations throughout the state.

The projects will be funded in a debt-equity ratio of 80:20, with no liability on the state government.

During the construction phase of 12 months, these projects have the potential to create 1,465 jobs, with 268 openings for the operational phase of 25 years.

The Cabinet has also approved a 70 MW Solar Power Plant in Khudigaon Part II, Dhubri, for the sale of power to the Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd.

The proposed solar power plant will be developed by a Solar Power Generator in Build-Own-Operate mode.
