Dubai Government Workshop (DGW) signs an agreement with Etihad Energy Service Company (Etihad ESCO) to build a photovoltaic station. This will increase the contribution to clean energy and decrease carbon emissions. The Executive Director of DGW, H.E. Fahad Ahmed Al Raeesi, and the CEO of Etihad ESCO, Dr. Waleed Alnuaimi. The agreement was signed with the aim to strengthen bilateral cooperation in renewable energy.

It has a capacity of 2.49 MW and is expected to produce 3.79 million kWh of renewable energy in its first year. This will reduce carbon emissions by 1.37 million kilograms.

H.E. Fahad Ahmed Al Raesi stated, “We are honored to partner with Etihad ESCO. They are leaders in energy efficiency in buildings, and renewable projects. This agreement is a reflection of our commitment to work with relevant entities that support ambitious national visions and objectives. President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan announced that 2023 will be the Year of Sustainability. This marks a new era of sustainable development in the UAE. We are looking forward to encouraging clean and sustainable energy use, diversifying our energy resources, and reducing our carbon footprint. DGW will continue to implement innovative strategies to improve the sustainability and effectiveness of its operations and services.

Dr. Waleed Alnuaimi stated that “We are happy to sign this agreement and support DGW’s initiatives to build a renewable energy facility within the DGW facility. Etihad ESCO will support Dubai’s goal to be one of the most sustainable places in the world. This is evident by our support for renewable energy, in line with the Dubai Demand Side Management Strategy 2030. We also laud DGW for its commitment to clean energy practices, which aim to assist the organisation in following environmentally responsible tracks by facilitating the transition from fossil energy sources and reducing carbon emissions.”
