Solar Wadi, a leading renewable energy company, has announced a major milestone in its partnership with Tamani Global Development & Investments LLC. The two companies have signed an agreement to build a Solar PV Plant at the Mall of Muscat facility, marking a significant step in Oman’s National Energy Strategy to increase the use of renewable energy sources.
The agreement was signed at the Oman Sustainability Week event and is set to bring many benefits to the Mall of Muscat and its tenants. Solar Wadi will be building a 5MWp Solar PV system at the roof and carpark areas of the Mall, which is expected to produce close to 9,000 mega-watthours (MWh) of green electricity annually.
This will cover approximately 40% of the overall electricity consumption for the Mall and its tenants, helping them to decarbonize their operations while reducing operational costs and realizing their ESG ambitions. The solar power generated will also contribute to Oman’s goal of converting 30% of its electricity use to renewable sources by 2030.
The team at SolarWadi expressed their delight at the partnership with Tamani Global Development & Investments LLC, and the opportunity to make a positive impact on Oman’s renewable energy landscape. The Mall of Muscat facility is one of the largest and most important developments in Oman, and SolarWadi’s involvement is a testament to its commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.
The Solar PV Plant project is expected to commence soon, and SolarWadi and Tamani Global Development & Investments LLC are confident that it will be a resounding success. This partnership represents a significant step towards Oman’s sustainable energy future and is a clear demonstration of the power of collaboration between industry leaders.
