The electricity interconnection project and the transmission of natural gas from Cyprus to two liquefaction plants in Egypt were identified as crucial areas for cooperation, along with renewable and clean energy projects, increasing trade exchange, and enhancing military relations.

The two leaders also commended the mutual support in various regional and international forums and organizations, the extensive consultation on issues and files of mutual interest, and the agreements held to implement several joint projects within the trilateral cooperation mechanism that brings together Egypt, Cyprus, and Greece.

Such a mechanism is an example to be followed in terms of coordination and consultation between the Mediterranean States. The President of Cyprus underlined the significance of choosing Cairo for his first foreign visit to the region since his election last February, reflecting the keenness to maintain the strategic nature of relations between the two countries at the official and grass-roots levels. In this regard, both leaders agreed on launching a joint business forum between both sides.
