Indonesian President Joko Widodo announced that his government was ready to work with the international community on the development of green technologies. This statement was made during the opening speech of Hannover Messe 2023 in Hannover, Germany, on April 16th.
The President stated that as the official partner of Hannover Messe, Indonesia is exposed to technology investments and the development of green economies in Indonesia in line with Indonesia’s commitment to the energy transition. Indonesia invites German Investors to help build a green economy in Indonesia. Jokowi said, “Indonesia is open for investment and cooperation once again.”
Jokowi said that the government is currently focusing on accelerating the industrial value chain of the country. He hopes that Indonesia’s economic transformation will be soon realized with the help of green energy. “We have a lot of capital and want to be a major player. We also want to make sure that the energy transition provides affordable energy for people,” said Jokowi.
Darmawan Prasodjo, PLN’s CEO, expressed his commitment to continue to drive the energy transition at a global scale through collaborations. PLN participated directly in Hannover Messe, showcasing its innovative products such as PLN mobile, Green Industry Cluster and Green Energy, a service. According to President’s orders, PLN will be open to all possible collaborations at Hannover Messe. Darmawan said, “We aim to be a global company that facilitates decarbonization.”
Darmawan revealed that Hannover Messe offers PLN the opportunity to expand its international market. PLN believes that the government’s dedication to creating an ecosystem for electric vehicles in the country will attract collaboration and investment on a global scale. PLN’s participation at Hannover Messe gives us the opportunity to showcase our company and business capabilities. He said that PLN wanted to reach an international market.
Darmawan, as the only official partner of Hannover Messe in Southeast Asia believes that Indonesia enjoys a higher bargaining position with the international public. PLN will use this opportunity to accelerate the green-energy ecosystem.
During the event, PLN presented its transformation to the world community. PLN showcased PLN Mobile as well as plans for the development of EV Ecosystems, Icon+ Digital Services and Green Industry Clusters. “At Hannover Messe PLN embraced energy transition and sustainable development. We want to show that we are ready to take on the energy transition to make a better future for our children and grandchildren,” said Darmawan.
