Pekat Solar Sdn Bhd, Pekat’s fully-owned subsidiary, accepted a Letter of Award from D&Y Textile Malaysia Sdn Bhd for the design, supply, installation, test and commission of grid-connected solar PV systems under the Self Consumption Scheme at three of their facilities in Sedenak Industrial Park Kulai, Johor.

D&Y Textile was founded in 2013 and is primarily engaged in spinning, weaving, knitting, and dyeing textile products. The project will be completed in eight months by December 2023.

Pekat’s Chief executive officer Mr Tai Yee Chee said that the project wins demonstrate the continued demand for solar PV installation in light of rising electricity prices and the demand for green energy.

Mr Tai said that Pekat will continue to promote the use of clean, sustainable energy and pursue projects both as an EPCC contractor and asset owner.

We are optimistic about the future of the solar PV industry for the remainder of the year, given the continued take-up rates and the trust that clients have in Pekat’s ability to execute.
