Israel’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure announced that it has implemented a sustainable energy transformation plan in the Gaza Envelope area, located seven kilometres from the Gaza border in southwest Israel.

A news agency reported that the plan is part of the government’s efforts in strengthening civil resilience in a region which has suffered for many years from rocket and missile strikes.

The plan, which will invest five million shekels (around 1.38 million dollars), will accelerate the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy for households and businesses in the region.

The establishment of new power facilities will upgrade the electrical network in the area.
