Rajasthan’s 1 GW Solar Auction Results Announced: Mahindra Susten, Avaada Energy, and Others Win Contracts

Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam (RUVNL) has awarded contracts for the supply of 1 GW of power from state transmission utility (STU)-connected solar power projects in the state.

Mahindra Susten and Sunfree Energy (SAEL) each won 200 MW at a quoted tariff of ₹2.61/kWh. Avaada Energy won 200 MW at ₹2.62/kWh, while Solarcraft Power India (Blupine Energy) and Jakson won 150 MW and 100 MW respectively, both at a quoted rate of ₹2.61/kWh. Shiva Corporation secured 50 MW at ₹2.61/kWh, and SJVN won 100 MW at a quoted rate of ₹2.62/kWh out of the quoted capacity of 300 MW under the bucket-filling method.

The selected solar projects must secure financial backing within one year of signing the power purchase agreement and become operational within 18 months of that. The projects must be designed for interconnection with the pooling substation at the solar park through a dedicated cable at a voltage level of 33 kV. The tender was floated by RUVNL in January 2023.
