BHEL CMD Inaugurates 5 MW Solar Plant in Bhopal, Emphasizes Environmental Commitment

The Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Nalin Singhal, inaugurated a 5 MW solar plant at the BHEL unit in Bhopal. The event was attended by Vinay Nigam, Executive Director of BHEL Bhopal & Jhansi, along with general managers, trade union representatives, and employees.

During the inauguration, Dr. Singhal highlighted the significance of environmental protection and BHEL’s commitment to promoting a greener future through initiatives such as tree plantation. The solar plant, spanning 20 acres, is expected to generate 79 lakh kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, resulting in savings of approximately Rs. 5.5 crore. The construction of the plant, costing around Rs. 22 crore, was undertaken using BHEL’s internal resources.

In addition to the solar plant inauguration, Dr. Singhal also inaugurated the EDM Wirecut Machine in the Tool & Gauge Department and visited various blocks and departments within the BHEL Bhopal Plant. He stressed the importance of timely delivery and high-quality manufacturing during his inspection.
