Power Finance Corporation (PFC), a public-sector undertaking (PSU), has announced the establishment of a special purpose vehicle (SPV) to facilitate the development of independent transmission projects.

The SPV, named ‘Neemrana II Kotputli Transmission Limited,’ will be responsible for executing preparatory activities for the transmission projects identified by PFC. The SPV has been incorporated as a wholly owned subsidiary of PFC Consulting Limited, which itself is a wholly owned subsidiary of Power Finance Corporation Limited. The primary objective of the SPV is to develop an independent transmission system to evacuate power from Rajasthan Renewable Energy Zone Phase IV, specifically the Bikaner Complex. This strategic move aims to enhance the transmission infrastructure and support the efficient evacuation of renewable energy in the region.

Power Finance Corporation (PFC) is a leading financial institution in the power sector of India. As a government-owned company, PFC plays a crucial role in financing and promoting various power projects, including renewable energy initiatives. With its extensive expertise and financial support, PFC contributes significantly to the growth and development of the power sector in the country. The establishment of the SPV reflects PFC’s commitment to advancing independent transmission projects and strengthening the overall power infrastructure in India.
