Fichtner Consulting Engineers, a subsidiary of Germany-based Fichtner GmbH, has secured a significant consultancy contract from Assam Power Distribution Company (APDCL). The tender for the project was issued by APDCL in November of the previous year, attracting technical bids from five different companies. Following the technical and financial evaluation, Fichtner Consulting Engineers emerged as the preferred choice for the contract. The consultancy services were valued at approximately ₹27 million.

Under the ‘Mukhya Mantri Sauro Shakti Prokolpo’ program, the project will be funded by the Asian Development Bank. Fichtner’s responsibilities include preparing a comprehensive DPR that covers various aspects such as land topography, water analysis, and a detailed master plan tailored to the solar project’s requirements. The DPR must also outline the necessary infrastructure facilities, including solar modules, mounting structures, power conditioning units, transformers, and power evacuation networks.

With previous experience as a project management consultant for prominent entities, Fichtner Consulting Engineers brings a wealth of expertise to the table. Their involvement in this landmark solar project is expected to contribute significantly to Assam’s renewable energy ambitions.
