Arabian Electrical Transmission Line Construction Company (AETCON), a Saudi Arabia-based company, has secured a significant agreement to construct a high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission line within the country.
The contract, valued at $155 million, is associated with the “Saudi Neom-Yanbu 525kV HVDC Transmission Line Construction Project” and has been awarded by the Saudi Electricity Company.
This project will be instrumental in expanding the nation’s power network, as it covers a vast distance of 605 km, connecting the power production hub of Yanbu on the western coast to the emerging city of Neom.
Recently, ACWA Power has announced that the NEOM green hydrogen project in Saudi Arabia has officially commenced construction and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026.
