Aligned with its commitment to sustainability and clean energy, Al Hamra Real Estate Company has successfully finished installing cutting-edge solar panels on the roof of the parking complex at Al Hamra Business Tower and Shopping Center.

This collaborative effort, involving the Kuwait Foundation for Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) and Kuwait Institute of Scientific Research (KISR), utilized photovoltaic solar panels with a total capacity of 240 kWp. Employing the latest technological advancements and leveraging expert knowledge, the project became operational remarkably quickly, starting on August 15.

This exceptional venture sets an innovative example and represents a significant achievement in Al Hamra’s dedication to fulfilling its environmental and social responsibilities in Kuwait. With the incorporation of the new solar panels, Al Hamra is projected to save about 400 megawatt-hours of electricity annually. This amount is comparable to powering over 5 homes for an entire year and conserving around 245 barrels of oil per year.

Furthermore, this initiative is anticipated to counteract carbon dioxide emissions by an impressive 360 tons annually, positioning it as one of Kuwait’s most environmentally conscious endeavors within the corporate sector. As the tallest installation of its kind in Kuwait, this forward-looking project aims to stimulate greater involvement from private sector enterprises, driving the adoption of solar energy.
