GoodWe, a leading global provider of solar inverters and energy storage solutions, furthered its commitment to social responsibility with the successful completion of the first EcoSmart Kids education program. The culmination of this initiative was celebrated at championship awards event in Victoria, Australia, held in late August, following the launch of the program June 2023.
EcoSmart Kids is an extension of GoodWe’s EcoSmart Tour project, a global initiative designed to share insights into renewable energy solutions and promote sustainable messages among diverse audiences worldwide. With the introduction of EcoSmart Kids, the GoodWe EcoSmart Tour expanded its scope in Australia, by welcoming a new audience segment – children.
EcoSmart Kids aims to engage and educate primary children through a series of interactive workshops focusing on climate change, ways of environmental conservation, and how renewable energy sources work, delivered in a creative and accessible manner. The GoodWe Australia team, certified with “Working with Children Check” (WWCC), conducted these educational sessions in schools across the State of Victoria.
The program featured a competition, following the workshops, to encourage participating children to create projects promoting positive environmental messages. The medium for these projects was left open to the children’s creativity and passions, spanning art, creative writing, music and more. Winners and prizes were awarded in each grade at every school involved, with first-place winners going on to the championship awards event held during the August Melbourne Home Show in Victoria, jointly hosted by GoodWe and Exhibitions & Events Australia.
During the Home Show, winners of the championship awards in the grade 2-4 and 5-6 categories were each celebrated with a trophy and a prize package worth over $1500. All other finalists were recognized with certificates and prize packages, each worth more than $500.

Maridza Riccioni, Features and Sponsorship Director for Exhibitions & Events Australia, said, “We are really honored to support such a fantastic and innovative program in EcoSmart Kids and to host the championship awards at the August Melbourne Home Show. We want to congratulate all the kids who participated in the program and competition, they made it very difficult for us to judge and decide on the prize winners at the school grade levels and especially at the championship final.”
Dean Williamson, Country Manager for GoodWe Australia, commented, “With the creation of EcoSmart Kids, we hope we can do our part to help inform and inspire children, their families and schools, and also reward them through the competition. We are also very thankful for the collaboration and support from the fantastic team at Exhibitions and Events Australia, to help us with an amazing awards event and celebrate the end of our 2023 program. The hope is that long term, we can deliver EcoSmart Kids across Australia and even tailored to other regions around the world for GoodWe teams overseas.”
