In a significant development, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has achieved a major milestone by emerging as the successful bidder in a tariff-based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process. The company, under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, recently announced its successful bid to establish an Inter-State Transmission System Project titled “Transmission system for evacuation of power from REZ in Rajasthan (20 GW) under Phase-III Part C1” on a Build, Own Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) basis. This announcement marks a crucial step forward for POWERGRID in its mission to strengthen India’s power transmission infrastructure.

The Letter of Intent (LoI) formalizing this achievement was officially received by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited on the 11th of September, 2023. The project itself encompasses the establishment of a cutting-edge 765/400kV substation, complete with a STATCOM unit, at the strategic location of Ramgarh. Additionally, the initiative involves the construction of a robust 765kV D/C Transmission Line, as well as the extension of associated bays at various existing substations within the state of Rajasthan.
