Voyants Solutions Wins Auction For Environmental And Social Impact Assessment Of 600 MW Solar Projects In Uttar Pradesh

TUSCO Limited, a joint venture between THDC India and the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA), has announced the results of its recent auction to appoint a consultant for the environmental and social impact assessment of a massive 600 MW solar project in Uttar Pradesh. Voyants Solutions emerged victorious in the auction with a competitive bid of ₹25.3 lakh. The tender, issued in February 2023, attracted bids from several notable firms.

The expansive solar park is slated to be distributed across eight villages in the Jhansi district of Uttar Pradesh, covering an estimated area of 3,000 acres. This significant project is designed to contribute to India’s renewable energy goals and further solidify Uttar Pradesh’s position as a renewable energy hub.

As part of the build, own, and operate model, the selected consultant, Voyants Solutions, will play a crucial role in ensuring that the project adheres to environmental and social impact standards. They will be responsible for implementing the scope of services and providing necessary output under direct monitoring by TUSCO Limited. Moreover, the contract includes provisions for addressing delays, with liquidated damages set at a rate of 0.5 percent per week, up to a maximum of 10 percent of the total contract value, in the event of project timeline extensions.

It’s worth noting that TUSCO Limited is set to receive assistance from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for this ambitious 600 MW solar project, underscoring the significance of the endeavor. Additionally, TUSCO Limited has recently invited bids for other renewable energy projects, including an 800 MW ultra-mega solar power park in Chitrakoot and floating solar power projects on various dam reservoirs in Uttar Pradesh, demonstrating its commitment to expanding the renewable energy landscape in the region.

With Voyants Solutions at the helm of the environmental and social impact assessment, the 600 MW solar project is poised for sustainable development and positive environmental outcomes, contributing to India’s clean energy future.
