INTEC Energy Solutions and CHINT Solar Renew Partnership for 79 MWp Agrivoltaic Project in Germany

INTEC Energy Solutions (INTEC), a prominent solar Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) system provider, has renewed its partnership with CHINT Solar (CHINT), a global smart energy solutions provider. Together, they will deliver comprehensive EPC services for a groundbreaking 79 MWp solar project in Tützpatz, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany. This notable agrivoltaic project is commissioned by Vattenfall AB, a major player in Europe’s electricity and heat production and distribution sector.

This partnership marks a significant milestone in the pursuit of sustainable land use practices. Work is already underway at the project site, with a focus on seamlessly integrating diverse mounting systems that coexist with agricultural activities across an expansive 93-hectare area. Once operational, the project will exemplify the harmonious blend of green electricity generation and sustainable agriculture, as it will provide shelter for free-range chickens beneath the solar panels.

Germany has set an ambitious target of reaching 215 gigawatts of photovoltaic electricity generation by 2030, with half of this capacity designated for open areas. Agrivoltaics, which promotes biodiversity and offers an additional income source for agriculture, emerges as a promising avenue to complement traditional open-space PV installations and contribute significantly to achieving these national objectives.

Adrien Joseph, CEO of INTEC, expressed pride in their partnership’s accomplishments and their commitment to advancing Germany’s renewable energy agenda. He emphasized the substantial impact of the Tützpatz project in reducing carbon emissions and fostering a more sustainable future.

This initiative not only underscores the importance of sustainable energy solutions but also highlights the role of innovation in addressing environmental challenges on a commercial scale.
