
The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and the Consul General of Switzerland in Dubai, HE Angelica Schempp, convened a meeting at DEWA’s headquarters to discuss potential collaboration in clean and renewable energy, energy efficiency, and water sectors. The meeting served as a platform to explore innovative opportunities in these vital areas and bolster bilateral relations.
During the meeting, HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, emphasized the shared commitment to advancing the global transition towards sustainable and clean energy solutions. Both parties explored various avenues for collaboration with the potential to benefit not only the UAE and Switzerland but also contribute to the global effort to mitigate the impacts of climate change.
Al Tayer provided an overview of DEWA’s achievements, initiatives, and projects in the renewable and clean energy sector. Among DEWA’s prominent projects is the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, recognized as the world’s largest single-site solar park, with a planned capacity of 5,000 megawatts (MW) by 2030.
In the meeting, Al Tayer highlighted the importance of innovation and digital transformation in enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of energy and water systems. He discussed potential collaborations in harnessing cutting-edge technologies to achieve these goals.
