Tristar Group has launched its second solar power project in Dubai, featuring a capacity of 464 kilowatt peak (kWp) at its specialized warehouse facility in Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA). This marks the company’s second project since 2021 in collaboration with TotalEnergies. The new plant, equipped with 1,190 photovoltaic panels, has an annual capacity of 750 megawatt hours (MWh) of renewable electricity, covering 90% of the facility’s total power consumption. This setup is expected to offset 318 tons of CO2 emissions, which is comparable to the environmental benefit of planting around 8,200 trees.

Saudi Arabia Unveils 3.7 GW Solar Power Tender In Latest Renewable Energy Drive
Saudi Arabia is initiating the fifth round of its National Renewable Energy Programme (NREP), aiming to allocate four solar projects totalling 3.7 GW. The Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) has commenced the qualification process for interested companies. The major project, Al Sadawi, with a 2 GW capacity, is planned for the Eastern Province, followed by the 1 GW AlMas’a project in the Hail Region. Additionally, Al Henakiyah 2 (400 MW) and Rabigh 2 (300 MW) are designated for the Al Madinah and Makkah regions, respectively. This follows recent deals for the 1,100 MW Al Henakiyah as well as 400 MW Tabarjal projects.
