The agreement sets the stage for constructing a 60 MW portfolio of advanced ground-mounted solar projects across the country, leveraging Jurchen Technology’s pioneering PEG EW racking solution. Supported by Sol Ecolution funding, the portfolio is slated for phased construction between 2024 and 2026, pending regulatory approvals.

Revolutionizing Solar Infrastructure

Under the MOU, Blue Circle Energy will employ the PEG as its primary racking/substructure across approximately 50 ground-mounted solar projects, termed Community Solar Gardens, spanning all eleven parishes in Barbados. The decentralized nature of these projects aims to minimize short-term grid impacts while enhancing long-term support and resilience.

PEG’s Innovative Edge

The selection of the PEG racking system stems from its streamlined design, boasting simplicity, high-density, and lightweight attributes. This design significantly reduces construction efforts, material usage, logistics, and labor requirements. Engineered for durability, the PEG’s low-to-the-ground, hurricane-resistant structure underwent rigorous technical reviews by DNV and Sol Ecolution, coupled with successful rod foundation tests across the island, including limestone terrains.
