Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Media City proudly unveils its eco-friendly initiative by implementing an advanced Thermodynamic Solar System for hot water delivery. This renewable energy solution, replacing traditional electrical heaters, underscores the hotel’s commitment to sustainable building practices and aligns with Radisson Hotel Group’s Net Zero target by 2050.
The adoption of the Thermodynamic Solar System is a significant achievement for Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Media City. This innovative system, integrating an air-source heat pump and solar blocks, produces hot water at 60ยฐC. Operating as the primary source of Domestic Hot Water (DHW), the system drastically reduces electricity dependency, cutting hot water system carbon emissions by 65% on its inaugural day.
This milestone showcases Radisson Hotel Group’s dedication to pioneering sustainable technology, making it the fourth Radisson Blu hotel in the UAE to embrace this environmentally friendly solution. With a commitment to becoming Net Zero by 2050, the group emphasizes green hotels, green energy, and green operations as key levers towards this goal.
Kathiravan Selvarasu, Cluster Chief Engineer at Radisson Blu Dubai Media City, highlighted the transformative impact of the Thermodynamic Solar System, capable of producing hot water round the clock under various conditions. James Berry, Cluster General Manager, commended the successful integration, marking a significant stride towards achieving sustainability objectives at Radisson Blu Media City Dubai.
