Sunnova Energy International Inc. (Sunnova) (NYSE: NOVA), a pioneering provider of adaptive energy services, is excited to announce the imminent launch of the Sunnova Adaptive Technology Center (ATC) in Q1 2024. This unveiling underscores Sunnovaโs firm dedication to delivering exceptional customer experiences and highlights the uniqueness of its Sunnova Adaptive Homeโข, Sunnova Adaptive Businessโข, and Sunnova Adaptive Communityโข service offerings.
The ATC will encompass cutting-edge energy testing and integration technologies, featuring a microgrid system powered by a grid simulator and solar array simulator capable of replicating various grid and solar array conditions. Additionally, it will include interchangeable inverter and battery test beds, along with a fully equipped model home complete with standard appliances like a range, oven, refrigerator, and HVAC system. This comprehensive setup will enable Sunnova’s engineering teams to conduct system-level validation, seamlessly integrating different technologies for reliable operation across diverse grid, solar, and home conditions to optimize system performance. Moreover, the ATC will empower service technicians to troubleshoot field issues in a controlled environment, ensuring prompt resolution of customer concerns.
This announcement follows closely on the heels of Sunnovaโs recent expansion of its Global Command Center (GCC), featuring advanced technologies, analytics, and tailored solutions aimed at enhancing the customer service experience. Like the GCC expansion, the ATC underscores Sunnova’s commitment to delivering enhanced functionality, quality, and service to customers and dealers alike.
“We have always prioritized maintaining high standards of quality and service excellence for our customers,” said William J. (John) Berger, Chief Executive Officer at Sunnova. “With the ATC, our customers and dealers can rest assured that they are partnering with a company that remains steadfastly focused on innovative technologies, integrated energy solutions, quality control, and service excellence.”
The GCCโs customer support and field service teams will collaborate with the ATC to replicate and troubleshoot a wide range of customer system issues, resulting in faster issue resolution. Engineering teams will also leverage the ATC to test features of the Sunnova Adaptive Homeโข technology, which enables customers to integrate solar use, battery storage, and energy control and management technologies tailored to external factors such as weather, grid health, and utility rates.
โThis facility is appropriately named the โAdaptiveโ Technology Center,โ noted Michael Grasso, Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer at Sunnova. โThe ATC is not a static configuration but a responsive, flexible arrangement that effectively integrates industry-leading technologies to deliver customized energy solutions to our customers. Itโs a significant effort to qualify hardware and integrate technologies, but it ensures that the services we provide to our customers are top-notch.โ
Furthermore, the ATC will facilitate the ongoing development of customer-facing experiences such as the Sunnova App and the proprietary Sunnova Sentientโข technology platform. This platform optimizes energy management, enhances reliability and resiliency, provides demand response and grid support, and offers additional revenue streams and greater energy independence for Sunnova’s network of customers.
With a substantial customer base of 386,000 solar and battery storage customers, the establishment of the ATC underscores Sunnova’s unwavering commitment to delivering unparalleled service and spearheading advancements in clean energy services.
