Israel’s Shikun & Binui Energy has secured a contract to construct 100 MW to 130 MW of photovoltaic (PV) capacity and 180 MWh to 240 MWh of energy storage.

The tender was awarded by Trans Israel, the entity overseeing the Cross-Israel Highway. The project, valued at ILS 450 million to ILS 550 million ($119.8 million), will be operated by Shikun & Binui for 25 years before ownership is transferred to Trans Israel.

The company plans to sell the generated energy on the open market, anticipating annual revenues of ILS 60 million to ILS 70 million. Construction is slated to begin in Q1 2025, with a completion timeline of six to 12 months.

The facilities will be located near six interchanges, and the company is exploring the possibility of developing up to four projects pending regulatory approval.
