Gensol Engineering Ltd. Secures Major Contract for Standalone Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Project in Gujarat

Gensol Engineering Ltd., renowned for its expertise in solar power engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services, alongside its endeavors in the electric mobility sector, has clinched a significant achievement by emerging as the top bidder (L1) for a substantial portion of a standalone Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) project. The project, amounting to 70 MW / 140 MWh out of a total capacity of 250 MW/500 MWh, is set to be developed by Gensol under a Tariff-Based Global Competitive Bidding model, catering to the energy storage needs of Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) on-demand basis.

Upon completion, the project will play a crucial role in providing electricity on-demand to Gujarat State’s DISCOMs during both peak and off-peak hours. It is designed to deliver 70 MW / 140 MWh of energy for two charge/discharge cycles daily, making a significant contribution of INR 450 Crore to Gensolโ€™s revenue over the contract period.
