GoodWeโs flagship annual webinar, โGoodWeekโ 2024, culminated on March 15th after five days of engaging presentations, marking a notable success. With over 5,000 live attendees and 10,000 interactions from 60 countries and regions, this year’s event once again served as a platform to explore cutting-edge advancements and foster collaboration in solar technology. Around the topic of “W in the Next Phase,” GoodWe boldly confronts challenges and endeavors to move on to a journey towards the future of solar energy alongside PV enthusiasts.
EMEA Session
During the webinar, GoodWe shared insights into the C&I solar+storage market, covering trends, market drivers, and smart solutions. This market is now largely driven by benefits related to PV energy self-consumption, peak-shaving and grid independence. According to PEAKPLANโs newest solar+storage simulation, storage remains preferred, with the potential for peak reduction reaching up to 91 kW in 292 kWh/200 kW systems.
Australia Session
The session provided up-to-date insights into the Australian PV market. According to SunWiz, the installed capacity in 2024 is expected to reach 5.37GW, a 17% increase compared with 2023, and meanwhile 2024 promises to be Australia’s 2nd-best year of PV installation. In the webinar, GoodWe introduced some compelling use cases for solar patio and solar EV carport applications. In addition, SolarQuip called for more considerations & regulations of the residential market from the installerโs view.
US Session
With the implementation of NEM3.0, homeowners in North America are increasingly seeking to integrate storage batteries into their solar systems. During the webinar, GoodWe introduced its new UL residential ESS, a solution consisting of a hybrid inverter ES-US and Lynx Home FH-US battery, in response to this market trend. Additionally, GoodWe showcased a range of energy storage products featuring new C&I three-phase 480V and 208V inverters, tailored for the US market. Our esteemed partner Sollega brought its UL3741 certified racking solutions to help revolutionize commercial rooftop installations.
Brazil Session
As AFCI protection becomes a requirement throughout Brazil, GoodWe gave a comprehensive webinar session on this technical aspect. After the introduction of the AFCI concept and principle by Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, GoodWe focused on AFCI application in hybrid scenarios. The live session concluded with MB Engenharia e Projetos presenting additional applications and project cases in Brazil.
APAC Session
Southeast Asian nations are witnessing a rapid increase in their solar power capacity. In this session, S&P Global highlighted key trends in the SEA market, including the growth of massive utility PV projects in the Philippines and the challenges posed by MEMR Regulation No. 2/2024 for India in achieving the governmentโs solar target. Amidst these dynamics, GoodWe focused on new technologies in photovoltaic C&I storage and utility systems, alongside partner LONGiโs presentation of HBC cells boasting a record conversion efficiency of 27.09%.
GoodWeek 2024 proved to be a remarkable triumph, made possible by the generous contribution of industry partners sharing their expertise and perspectives on the latest advancements. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their support and engagement throughout the weekโs exploration of the five “W”s.
Moving forward, GoodWe remains committed to advancing renewable energy, confronting challenges with determination, and seizing opportunities with enthusiasm. Together, let us continue to explore the “W” in the Next Phase.
