NTPC Explores Power Sector Collaboration with Tajikistan at Bharat Electricity Summit 2026

The Chairman and Managing Director of NTPC Limited held discussions with H.E. Juma Daler Shafoqir, Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan, along with H.E. Lukmon Bobokalonzoda, to explore opportunities for strengthening bilateral cooperation in the power sector.

The meeting focused on identifying potential avenues for joint development of power projects in Tajikistan, including coal-based, gas-based, and floating solar initiatives. Senior officials from NTPC were also present during the discussions.

During the interaction, the Tajik delegation acknowledged NTPC’s recent capacity-building initiative under the ITEC Programme of the Ministry of External Affairs, wherein 32 professionals from Tajikistan were hosted in India during January and February 2026.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Bharat Electricity Summit 2026, being held from March 19–22, 2026 at Yashobhoomi, under the patronage of the Ministry of Power.

The engagement highlights NTPC’s ongoing efforts to expand its global presence and strengthen regional partnerships in the energy sector, particularly in emerging international markets.
