H.E. Nawal Alhanaee Honored with Women in New Energy (WiNE) ME Award

Nawal Alhanaee, Director of Future Energy Department at the Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure – UAE, has been honoured with the Women in New Energy (WiNE) Middle East 2024 award at the SolarQuarter Leadership Summit 2024 hosted at Novotel Abu Dhabi Al Bustan, Abu Dhabi. This prestigious recognition is part of a campaign celebrating the extraordinary contributions made by women in the field of sustainable energy across the Middle East.

The WiNE Middle East 2024 initiative aims to highlight the achievements of women who are spearheading innovation and change in the clean energy sector. By showcasing these leaders, the campaign encourages more women to enter and excel in this vital industry, thereby enhancing gender diversity and fostering a more inclusive energy landscape.

H.E. Nawal Alhanaee is a recognized visionary in the energy sector, known for her decisive leadership and dedication to sustainable energy projects. Among her notable achievements are leading the National Hydrogen Strategies and the National SAF policy in 2023. Her work has not only advanced UAE’s energy policies but has also been integral in positioning the nation at the forefront of global energy discussions.

In recognition of her efforts and impact, H.E. Alhanaee was awarded the First-Class Order of Zayed II by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for her significant role in the UAE’s COP28 negotiating team.
