Azure Power Global Limited, a prominent renewable energy company in India, has announced the appointment of Mr. Brijesh Mehra as the non-executive Director of the Company and Azure Power India Private Limited. This appointment, effective from May 8, 2024, comes as a nomination by CDPQ Infrastructures Asia Pte Ltd. Mr. Mehra will also serve as the Chairman of the Board for both entities.
With a robust background in banking, Mr. Mehra brings over 35 years of experience to the table, having managed significant roles across India and South Asia. His most recent position was at RBL Bank, where he oversaw the Wholesale business. Before RBL, he was the Country Executive for India and the Southeast Asia/India Cluster Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking at the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). Mr. Mehra is an alumnus of Delhi University and holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
Mr. Sunil Gupta, CEO of Azure Power, expressed his enthusiasm about the new appointment, stating, “We are pleased to have Brijesh join our Board as the Chairman.
