TotalEnergies has completed the installation of a 2.1 megawatt-peak (MWp) ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) system in partnership with Hiep Phat International Agricultural Co. Ltd, a leading starch manufacturer in Vietnam. This project marks TotalEnergies’ first agri-PV system in the Asia Pacific region, supplying around 20% of the energy needs for Hiep Phat’s plant and office.

The PV system, featuring over 3,600 panels, generates approximately 3,250 megawatt-hours (MWh) of renewable electricity annually. This reduces Hiep Phatโ€™s carbon footprint by about 2,200 tons of CO2 emissions each year, equivalent to removing 440 cars from the road or planting 33,000 trees. Additionally, Hiep Phat plans to cultivate plants, such as herbs for organic chicken farming, under the panels to further its agricultural ventures.

Under the agreement, TotalEnergies fully funded, installed, and will operate the PV system. Hiep Phat will purchase the generated electricity for 20 years, eliminating upfront costs. This initiative not only supports Hiep Phatโ€™s agricultural operations but also integrates clean energy production into their core activities.
