Polyten Recycling GmbH, a leader in PVC plastic recycling, has taken a significant step towards sustainability with the installation of a new photovoltaic (PV) system. Managing Directors Jörg Mavroidis and Marcus Wicklein have emphasized the importance of sustainable production practices, complementing their already eco-friendly product line.
“Given our electricity consumption, it was clear that a photovoltaic system had to be the next step,” stated Marcus Wicklein. The PV system, installed by Energietechnik West and designed by Malte Böcker, now supplies approximately 160,000 kWh of green electricity annually, covering about 25% of Polyten’s electricity needs. “The advice and planning with Mr. Böcker were first-class. We have identified further opportunities in load and consumption management to optimize our electricity use,” Wicklein added.
Despite recent significant investments in production, Polyten required a financing solution for the new PV system. Böcker facilitated this through a partnership with Gorfion Green Energy GmbH, providing a customized PV system rental contract.
The 185 kWp system was completed within three months of the order in May, just in time for the summer solar season. Joachim Plesch, Managing Director of Gorfion Green Energy GmbH, highlighted the mutual benefits of the project: “We aim to create win-win situations: primarily for the environment through increased PV installations, but also for all parties involved. The customer receives a high-quality, optimally planned system from a local specialist company, while our installation partners can serve customers they might not otherwise reach without a financing option.”
Jörg Mavroidis praised the system rental model: “We received an excellent system with a flexible, lean contract that allows us the option to take over the system ourselves.” Malte Böcker echoed these sentiments, commending the support and expertise provided by Gorfion Green Energy, which made the process enjoyable and efficient.
Gorfion Green Energy GmbH will showcase its partner model at the Intersolar Europe exhibition in Munich from June 19th to June 21st, 2024 (Hall C5 Stand 171 O+N). Numerous installation and specialist companies have already confirmed their participation.
