Trinasolar Sets New World Records with 32.6% Efficient Tandem Solar Cell and 865W Module Output

Trinasolar, a global leader in smart photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage solutions, has announced that its industrial large-area perovskite/crystalline silicon tandem solar cell, jointly developed with Huairou Laboratory, has achieved a record efficiency of 32.6%, independently certified by Fraunhofer ISE CalLab.

The breakthrough sets a new world record for 210 mm half-cut tandem solar cells, marking a major advancement in next-generation photovoltaic technology. In a parallel achievement, the companyโ€™s 3.1 mยฒ industrial standard-sized tandem module, integrated with the high-efficiency tandem cells, delivered a peak power output of 865 W, as certified by TรœV SรœD, also establishing a new global benchmark for module power output.

Breakthrough in Tandem PV Technology

The record-setting performance highlights the successful integration of Trinasolarโ€™s large-area tandem cell manufacturing expertise with Huairou Laboratoryโ€™s advanced research in perovskite absorber and functional layer materials. The collaboration has enabled critical breakthroughs in scaling high-efficiency tandem technology for industrial applications, addressing key technical challenges associated with next-generation PV development.
