Sunview Group Berhad (Sunview), a leading player in renewable energy, has announced a strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The partnership, facilitated through its subsidiary Fabulous Sunview Sdn Bhd, aims to develop two significant solar energy projects in Uzbekistan.
Under the agreement, Sunview will undertake the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) of two large-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) plants and battery energy storage systems (BESS). The projects include a 400 MWac solar PV plant with a 100MW/200MWh BESS in the Andijan district, and a 200 MWac solar PV plant with a 50MW/100MWh BESS in the Fergana district. Sunview will also act as the investor and asset owner for these ventures.
HP Ong, Group Executive Director & Group Chief Executive Officer of Sunview Group Berhad, expressed pride in securing these projects, stating, โWe are honored to have been awarded these significant projects, which underscore our commitment to renewable energy and global expansion. This collaboration showcases our expertise in delivering large-scale solar PV and BESS installations.โ
He further highlighted the strategic importance of these projects, noting, โThe addition of these 600 MWac solar PV plants and 150MW/300MWh BESS projects to our pipeline will enhance the financial viability of our Group in the coming years, supported by favorable tariffs. These initiatives will also play a pivotal role in Uzbekistanโs goal to achieve 40% renewable energy contribution by 2030. By bolstering the share of renewables, our projects will contribute to a stable energy supply and significantly reduce the nation’s carbon footprint. We are eager to establish a fruitful partnership with the Uzbekistan government.โ
The collaboration marks a significant milestone for Sunview Group Berhad in expanding its footprint in the global renewable energy sector while supporting Uzbekistan’s sustainable energy ambitions.
