Constant Energy has signed one of its largest corporate Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) to date, a significant 12-megawatt peak (MWp) solar rooftop project with Midea Refrigeration Equipment (Thailand), a subsidiary of the esteemed Fortune 500 company, Midea Group. This landmark agreement was established in collaboration with Anhui Midea Hekang Electric Power Engineering.

Midea Group, a global leader in home appliance manufacturing, is headquartered in Southern China and employs over 166,000 people across more than 200 countries, including Thailand.

The solar installations, under this partnership, will be deployed at Midea’s factory in Chonburi Province, Thailand, spanning three buildings and one car park. These installations will comply with Constant Energy’s stringent international health and safety standards. Midea stands to gain substantial economic benefits through reduced electricity costs while also achieving a significant reduction in their carbon footprint, with an estimated 130,000 tons of carbon emissions cut over the project’s lifespan. This collaboration marks a critical step for Constant Energy in aiding Midea Group to meet their ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals.

Strategic Achievements and Future Impact

A standout achievement of this agreement is Constant Energy’s successful alignment of the PPA to ensure mutual benefits for both parties. Recognizing the industrial practice differences between China and Thailand, Constant Energy meticulously developed a fair and beneficial agreement, ensuring a win-win situation.

This milestone celebrates one of the biggest corporate Power Purchase Agreements for Constant Energy with a commercial and industrial off-taker client. It underscores the company’s expanding clientele in China and demonstrates that cultural and linguistic differences do not hinder cooperation. Looking ahead, Constant Energy aims to create a positive impact throughout Midea’s supply chain.
