Yemen’s Taiz Province Inaugurates Solar Energy Station To Power Nine Water Wells

Eng. Abdulraqeeb al-Shurmani, Minister of Water and Environment in the caretaker government, and Ahmed Amin al-Masawa, acting Governor of Taiz, inaugurated a solar energy station project designed to power nine water wells in Taiz province of the Shaab al-Rayhan.

Funded by UNICEF and UNEPS with a total cost of $1.5 million, the project features a central solar energy system and electric generators, benefiting 145,000 people.

This initiative is part of efforts to enhance water services in Taiz, in line with directives from revolution leader Abdulmalik Al-Houthi to improve local infrastructure and service delivery.
