Heliene, a prominent North American solar panel provider, and Premier Energies, a leading solar cell manufacturer from India, have announced a strategic joint venture to establish a new solar cell production facility in the United States. This facility is set to produce an impressive 1 gigawatt (GW) of advanced N-Type solar cells annually, enhancing the supply of high-quality components for the U.S. solar market.

The new U.S. facility will bolster their supply chain by localizing production, which is crucial as the demand for domestically produced solar technology continues to rise.

Martin Pochtaruk, CEO of Heliene, emphasized the importance of this partnership: โ€œPremier Energies has been a valued partner for years, and together we are committed to delivering the highest quality solar products. With the growing need for U.S.-made modules and components, now is the perfect time to expand our collaboration through this joint venture.โ€

Under this agreement, Heliene will oversee construction, project management, human resources, and regulatory compliance, while Premier Energies will bring its expertise in cell technology, manufacturing equipment, and supply chain management to the table.

This joint venture is well-aligned with the goals of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, which provides tax incentives to encourage domestic clean energy manufacturing. Although significant investments have been made in U.S. solar module production, earlier stages of the supply chain, such as solar cell manufacturing, have lagged. This partnership will address these gaps and support the growth of the U.S. solar industry by bringing essential manufacturing capabilities to American soil.
