Zambia And Wendit Group Sign Agreement For 50MW Solar Plant In Kafue Town

The Ministry of Energy, represented by Dr. Francesca Chisangano Zyambo, Permanent Secretary Administration, has signed an Implementation Agreement for a 50MW solar plant to be constructed by Wendit Group in Kafue Town, Lusaka.

Wendit Group CEO, Mr. Erich Horlacher, expressed his deepest gratitude to the government of Zambia and the Ministry of Energy for their unwavering support and vision in fostering a greener future for the nation.

โ€œThe 50MW solar plant represents a significant leap forward in Zambiaโ€™s energy landscape. This project will generate clean, renewable energy, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and decreasing carbon emissions, while providing a stable and reliable power supply to the region,โ€ said Horlacher.

He added that the impact of this project extends beyond the energy it produces. It will create job opportunities, stimulate local economic growth, and set a benchmark for future renewable energy projects in Zambia and beyond.

The project underscores the Ministry of Energy’s commitment to sustainable development and a greener future for Zambia.
