RMC Green Energy Receives Approval for 50 MW Solar Park in Rajasthan

RMC Green Energy Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of RMC Switchgears Limited, has secured approval from the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation to establish a 50 MW Renewable Energy Park under the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Policy 2023. This development marks a significant milestone for RMC Switchgears, signifying its entry into the solar energy sector as a renewable Independent Power Producer (IPP).

The approval aligns with RMC Switchgears Limited’s broader strategy to expand its presence in the renewable energy sector. The company is actively bidding on additional projects totaling over 600 MWp, with the goal of securing 1 GWp in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts within the next 18 months. RMC Green Energy’s expansion plans include collaborations with installation and commissioning experts across multiple states, supported by an in-house team of skilled designers and supervisors.

In a statement, Ankit Agrawal, CEO and Whole-Time Director of RMC Switchgears, emphasized the importance of this approval. “This marks a pivotal step in our journey as we transition into a renewable energy company, with solar plants as IPPs and EPC contracts for solar as our primary focus. Establishing our first 50 MW Renewable Energy Park is a testament to our commitment to participating in the strategic fossil energy substitution within India,” Agrawal said.

This strategic initiative is also a part of RMC Switchgears Limited’s contribution to India’s climate action goals as outlined in the Paris Agreement. The company’s involvement in renewable energy is expected to support India’s target of achieving 450 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, contributing to reduced carbon emissions, economic growth, and the creation of green jobs.

The approval granted to RMC Green Energy Pvt Ltd is seen as a crucial step in India’s renewable energy journey, reinforcing the country’s position as a global leader in renewable energy technologies.
