The Indian Battery Manufacturers Association (IBMA) convened for its 3rd Annual General Meeting today in New Delhi, where significant changes in leadership were announced. The meeting, attended by members and regulatory bodies, saw the election of Ms. Preeti Bajaj, CEO and Managing Director of Luminous Power Technologies Pvt. Ltd., as the new President of IBMA. Ms. Bajaj, who previously served as the Vice President, succeeds Mr. Arun Mittal of Exide Industries Ltd., who has led the association with dedication and vision.
In addition to Ms. Bajajโs appointment, Mr. Rajesh Jindal, President & Chief Marketing Officer at Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Ltd., was elected as the new Vice President of IBMA.
Ms. Bajaj, addressing the assembly, expressed her commitment to advancing IBMAโs mission to build a sustainable, innovative, and globally competitive battery manufacturing industry in India. She outlined her goals to drive technological advancements, promote sustainable practices, and enhance Indiaโs position as a global leader in the sector. Highlighting the critical moment for the energy sector, Ms. Bajaj conveyed her enthusiasm for collaborating with members to elevate the industry on both national and international stages.
The meeting also featured contributions from the Delhi Pollution Control Committee, which noted IBMAโs initiatives and suggestions regarding the implementation and compliance with the Battery Waste Management Rules (BWMR 2022).
