DEWA Explores Sustainable Energy Collaboration with US Energy Delegation

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), held discussions with Robert Hertzberg, Senior Fellow at Mission Possible Partnership and Board Member of First Public Hydrogen, along with a high-level delegation from the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), to explore opportunities for collaboration in sustainable energy and innovation.

The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in research and development, innovation and capacity building. Key areas of discussion included specialised training programmes in smart grids, renewable energy, energy storage, network upgrades, energy efficiency, cybersecurity, photovoltaic system integration and advanced data analytics.

Senior DEWA officials, including Waleed bin Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence, and Ghanim Alqassim, Senior Manager โ€“ Solar Energy, were also present at the meeting.

Al Tayer reaffirmed DEWAโ€™s commitment to strengthening partnerships with leading international organisations to exchange technical expertise and build national capabilities. He emphasised the importance of empowering professionals to contribute to the future of sustainable energy while supporting the energy transition, digital transformation and climate action.

The discussions align with the objectives of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050, which aim to accelerate the emirateโ€™s transition to a low-carbon and sustainable energy future.
