A Technical Committee has been established by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) under the leadership of Dr. A.K. Tripathi, an Advisor at MNRE. The committee’s main task is to review and finalize the draft specifications for solar cold storage. These draft specifications were initially prepared, and comments from various stakeholders have been received. The committee’s responsibilities include reviewing these draft specifications, considering the feedback from stakeholders, and finalizing both the specifications and the guidelines for solar cold storage. Once finalized, these guidelines will be officially notified by MNRE.

Additionally, the committee is responsible for finalizing the testing protocols for solar cold storage, which have been prepared by the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE). The committee’s work involves consulting with industry experts and other stakeholders when necessary to ensure comprehensive and practical guidelines. The committee is expected to complete its tasks and submit a report with its recommendations. This process is being conducted with the approval of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
