The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) is seeking feedback on the draft Green Hydrogen Certification scheme of India. This initiative is part of the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM), which aims to position India as a global leader in the production, use, and export of Green Hydrogen (GH2) and its derivatives. The mission supports Indiaโ€™s goal of becoming self-reliant in clean energy and serves as a key step in the global clean energy transition.

The Green Hydrogen Certification scheme of India (GHCI) is currently being finalized by MNRE. The scheme is expected to ensure that the production and use of green hydrogen in the country adheres to specific standards, thus promoting a sustainable and reliable approach to hydrogen energy.

To ensure broad industry participation and gather valuable insights, MNRE is inviting stakeholders to share their views, comments, and suggestions on the proposed draft of the GHCI. This feedback will help shape the final version of the certification scheme. The deadline for submitting responses is September 27, 2024. MNRE’s efforts are a crucial part of India’s strategy to achieve its clean energy targets and contribute to global sustainability efforts.
