The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Higher Education as part of the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. This new partnership aims to advance the deployment of Grid Connected Rooftop (GCRT) solar projects across a range of educational institutions, including colleges and universities. Under this agreement, SECI will manage the installation of solar panels on rooftops of various buildings under the Department of Higher Education.
The initiative is expected to enhance the sustainability of educational institutions by integrating clean, renewable energy into their infrastructure. By implementing these solar projects, SECI will help reduce carbon footprints and promote energy efficiency within the academic sector. This move aligns with the government’s broader goals of increasing the adoption of renewable energy sources and supporting India’s transition to a more sustainable energy future.
